Nala is a beautiful pup, on the small side, about a year old. She is shy and probably has not had much opportunity to live inside with a loving family. She has made excellent progress settling into her foster home and learning the routine. Nala is house trained, crate trained, dog friendly (cats unknown), and walks well on leash. She considers the crate her sanctuary and should be in the crate when no one is home. Nala needs time to meet and trust new people, but once she knows you, she welcomes belly rubs. Being young, Nala has moments of puppy energy that a couple of laps around the yard will satisfy and settles down quickly once she is back inside. She can also be mischievous and pick up things she shouldn’t have, but she’s smart and can be corrected easily. Nala does not yet know any commands, but is very food oriented and trainable.
Nala needs to go to a home with a fenced yard. She needs a family that is patient and will commit time to basic training. A person that’s home a lot and can give Nala attention will help her settle in and learn the rules. Another friendly dog in the house who can be a “big brother/big sister” would be helpful.
