QUINCY
Primary Photo

All our rescue Labs are amazing and Quincy is no exception. Like many he has been through some unpleasant experiences before arriving at his Foster home and we are happy to report he seems to have put all that behind him .

Quincy is approximately 2 years old but still has the mindset of a puppy. He has discovered toys in the past few weeks and always has at least one with him at all times. He is a big boy who thinks he’s a lap dog. At 66lbs his zoomies are quite something, as he hurtles around the room.

He loves to be touched and cuddles up whenever the opportunity arises. He can be calm and keeps himself occupied with his toy of choice, as long as he can hear his humans nearby. He eats well and is now mostly house trained. He treats his crate as a safe and happy place but doesn’t like to be confined for long periods. He is currently having basic behavioral classes and has mastered “sit” and “down” very quickly. He loves a walk on the leash but needs more help to stay focused and walk at your pace. He is very smart and will pick this up quickly without a doubt, he just needs time and patience.

He gets on well with other dogs of all sizes and loves to play, which can become boisterous at times. He has no record of young children and based on his exuberance for life, we would not recommend him for a home with Children under 7 years old . He has no history with cats. However he is fascinated by geckos and Iguanas in our yard.

Quincy will make a wonderful canine companion and his smile lights up your life every morning, when he celebrates a new day in paradise. He needs a home where he is not left alone for long periods and is supported by an environment of patience, understanding and love, while he gets through his late “puppy” phase. Given his size he needs space, inside and out, to express himself.

If you are an SSLR approved adopter, who can be the special family that can offer all the things he needs, your rewards of living with Quincy will be exceptionally rewarding and deeply fulfilling .
