Available Dogs

Hi everyone! Shadow here, a friendly, playful pup with a black coat, 8 months of age. I love people of all ages including small children. I get along well with other dogs and I do fine with cats in my house, but chase the kitties that are outside my house. Everyone says that I'm very handsome. My favorite toys are chew bones and I leave household items alone. In my early days, I was left in a crate for long periods of time, so I prefer to be outside my crate. I do go in the crate on my own to sleep and I'm fine in there with a toy for 4 hours during the day. My sense of smell is very good so I enjoy exploring the outdoors and taking car rides. My playful energy is channeled by several short walks daily and a game like tug-o-war rather than a long stroll in the evening. I have puppy energy so having a home with an active person or family with a fenced yard will be great. Loud noises or thunderstorms don't upset me. I'd like to try things like an agility run with some treats for encouragement. I weigh 50 pounds and I'm working on gaining some more weight. I'm a smart guy who knows my basic obedience commands and I'm very food motivated., so continuing my training in my new home will be awesome. I sometimes jump up when excited so I'm working on keeping four paws on the floor. I'm doing well with my leash training and my foster mom has taken me for outings at Home Depot, Lowes and other fun places. I do chase squirrels, chickens, and lizards outdoors.
