At four years old and 75 pounds, Perla may be a big girl, but in her mind, she is the perfect lap dog! This sweet, affectionate girl absolutely adores her people and is happiest when she’s getting attention, cuddles, and quality time with her humans.
Perla spent the first three years of her life living outside in a kennel, so she is making up for lost time—and she wants ALL the love! She has the cutest way of communicating with her foster family, too. When she’s hungry, she’ll pick up her food bowl and bring it to her foster to let them know it’s dinnertime. And when the humans are enjoying an evening snack, Perla has been known to pick up her bowl and say, “Excuse me…what about me?” How can you resist that?
Perla loves to play ball and enjoys going for walks. She’s still working on her leash manners, so a fenced yard is a must for her. A secure yard will give this playful girl a safe place to stretch her legs, play fetch, and enjoy some outdoor time.
Because Perla loves being with her people, a home where someone works from home or is around much of the day would be ideal. She wants to be part of the family and is happiest when she isn’t left alone for long periods.
Perla can get along with other dogs, but she would be happiest as the only dog in her home where she can soak up all the attention for herself. She also has a strong prey drive, so she needs a home without small animals.
